Artists statement
My work is mainly about people. Hence it contains a lot of portraiture and genre pieces. I work from life and imagination. I use a number of mediums – pastels, oils, acrylics, watercolours and pencil. My influences are wide and range from the Flemish renaissance artists to Degas and the 19th century Symbolists and Art Noveau movements as well as Asian art. In regard to exhibitions, I have exhibited in the Portia Geach and the Archibald exhibitions. I also have taught community art for over 30yrs.
